The project addresses the visibility needs of both business and government in the international flow of containerised cargo by developing a data sharing concept that allows an extended assessment of risks by both business and government.

ISL on the Hamburg International Conference of Logistic (HICL)

On September 10th and 11th the HICL2009 - Hamburg International Conference of Logistics - took place at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) for the 4th time. The HICL brought together scientists and practitioners from all over the world to exchange ideas and information on the latest advancements and issues in the field of "Supply Chain Performance".

SICIS – User acceptance test and training are accomplished

First presentations of SICIS system

On June 4th and 17th, 2009, first internal presentations of the functionality of the actual version of the SICIS system took place. The presentations were performed by Mr. Eric Lung from HIT in Hong Kong and observed via internet by INTEGRITY project partners in Rotterdam, Felixstowe and Bremen.

INTEGRITY and SmartCM – First meeting of the “Joint Advisory Board” (JAB) in Brussels

In March 2009 the first meeting of the "Joint Advisory Board (JAB)" took place in Brussels. This committee – launched together from INTEGRITY and SmartCM– is made up of top-level representatives from customs authorities, operators of port community systems, shipping companies as well as different European associations. The JAB’s objective is to discuss the drafts and structures of both projects in order to put them on a profound basis.

INTEGRITY – Consensus Building Meeting in Rotterdam

The first Consensus Building Meeting of the Integrity project was hosted on January 20th, 2009 by the Erasmus University, Rotterdam.

The focus of the attending project partners and external participants was the presentation and discussion of the development of the Shared Intermodal Container Information System (SICIS). In particular, the linking of SICIS with existing information systems requires an exactingly high level of coordination between all participants.

The INTEGRITY project was presented at the World Customs Forum titled "Managing secure trade lanes & the future of facilitation: Navigating the seas of change" organized by the World Customs Organisation (WCO) on December 4th in Brussels with several speeches.

Discussions of INTEGRITY with EU-China Customs Project

On 30th October, 2008, representatives of the INTEGRITY project presented general aspects and first achievements of INTEGRITY in a meeting with the EU-China Customs Project (SSTL – Smart and Secure Trade Lanes). The meeting took place at the city of Xi’An, China. The delegation of Chinese Customs was led by their Director Hao Chongfu, who considered the INTEGRITY concept to be very interesting.

INTEGRITY Partner OHB launches AIS Satellite

Six new communications satellites were successfully launched on 19th June, 2008 from the Russian launch site Kapustin Yar using a Cosmos 3M rocket. One of the new satellites, the so-called ORBCOMM CDS, is able to receive and transmit information provided by the Automatic Identification System (AIS). Thus, it is now possible to globally monitor international vessel traffic.

INTEGRITY project kicked-off

Heading towards a win-win situation between industry and Customs for global container transport

On June 17th, 2008, a new challenging project has been kicked-off intending to significantly improve the reliability and predictability of global door-to-door container chains. INTEGRITY is funded by the European Commission in the 7th Framework Programme for Research & Development and liaises with several EU Directorates. A total budget of 12m€ will allow the consortium running the project to implement new procedures and software tools which it is hoped will be adopted throughout the supply chain.
