The CASSANDRA project aims to make container security more efficient and effective.

The project addresses the visibility needs of both business and government in the international flow of containerised cargo by developing a data sharing concept that allows an extended assessment of risks by both business and government.

3rd European Conference on ICT for Transport Logistics 2010 in Bremen

The 3rd European Conference on ICT for Transport Logistics (ECITL´10) will take place in Bremen on November, 4 – 5 and is supported by the Minister for Economic Affairs and Ports of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.

The ECITL’10 is focused on the adoption of green logistics concepts supported by modern intelligent ICT systems. The conference will look into different processes, services and functions of the various solutions, e.g. the provision of vital information in transport logistics, and it will explain how ICT can support information and process integration for economic, environment and security efficient transport solutions.
Notable experts in the logistics sector, e.g. Stephen Miles, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Robert Bommers, Managing Director BLG Automotive Logistics will present keynotes. These topics will be of specific interest for executives in the logistics industry, shippers and researchers.
The ECITL’10 is organised by several EU funded projects dealing with different issues of transport logistics.

ISL (Institute for Shipping Economics and Logistics) – coordinator of the EU funded project “INTEGRITY – Intermodal Global Door-to-Door Container Supply Chain Visibility” is the local organiser of this year’s conference and is additionally responsible for the conference topic “Visibility and Security”.
Three unique historical buildings placed around the Bremen market place, namely the Town Hall, the Chamber of Commerce and the Bremen Cotton Exchange will host the conference.
